If you’ve ever joined a gym before then there’s a good chance you’ve probably done something like this. You sign up and are given a free session with one of their trainers. They write a list of exercises and some numbers down on a card, they give you a quick rundown on their idea of how to perform the lifts, and then tell you where to find them if you want personal training. You follow it for a week or 2, maybe even 3 or 4, then you start going less, and perhaps even start making up your own thing when you do. You don’t really understand what you’re doing, feel a little out of place, and begin thinking things like “training doesn’t work for me”. Maybe you try to remedy this by pushing yourself a little harder for a while, and all you got for your efforts was even more confused and tired. Sound familiar?
The 12-Week How to Train Programme was designed for people to do exactly that, learn how to train. If you’ve been through the above scenario, you’re new to training, hit a plateau, or just want to know more about what you’re doing, then this is the programme for you. There are no secrets, shortcuts, or that one weird trick, just an evidence based practice. The things that drive progress in training are not hard to understand, and you can learn them while you put them into practice with our programme. You’ll learn how to apply each step as you make your way through the programme, how to adjust the variables, experience how they affect you, and how you use that information to manage your own training.
What comes next? Consistency, it really is key, and with your new understanding of training you will now have options. We can provide you with programming that you will now know how to follow and edit if you wish to. You could start writing your own programming, ask as many questions as you like when you do, we’re happy to help. Or you could use what you’ve learned to simply wing it, the choice is yours.
